Infants & Babies
Generally, the very young, should use very mild cleansers. Especially in the case of infants and babies born with atopic skin conditions.
Harsh soaps may contain chemicals which are too strong for our skin. Long term use of such harsh soaps will damage the skin’s natural protective layer and may result in long term problematic skin conditions.
Even if you do not have a skin condition, it is generally a good practice to take care of your skin, by using mild cleansers. Our skin is exposed to many harsh elements already, on a daily basis. The last thing it needs is further damage.
If you work in an air-conditioned environment or a dry environment, the BELVEA Gentle Skin Wash would be most ideal for you, because it cleanses gently whilst adding moisture back to your skin. Remember, there is botanic (plant-based) glycerin added to help the skin trap water and to moisturize.
If you have sensitive skin that is easily irritated by harsh ingredients within the formulation, then you should use mild cleansers to avoid irritating your skin further.
Elderly patients have very dry and sometimes brittle skin. The reason could be due to age, whereby the skin’s function is impaired. Harsh soaps again could cause further damage to these patients’ skin. Therefore, a mild, soap-free cleanser with moisturising factor would be a wonderful option.
